Sweet Savannah, GA.

Founded as a colony in 1733, Savannah holds so much to be admired.

It operates as a major port city, which we witnessed on our free ferry ride; Savannah Belle.

Even though it was a short trip, it was our first ferry experience and we got to see some HUGE cargo ships coming into our country from China!

There are many sites to enjoy and character abounds!

LOVE this cute river boat.

The US Coast Guard made their appearance, too.

But, I have to say, the charming, cobble-stoned streets screamed history!  I LOVE history. :)

We almost felt like we were going back in time.....that is.......until we noticed the cars. :)

It is also a little 'touristy' so hold on to your wallets!

These candy apples were so awesome.  But, I was NOT about to spend $17.00 for an apple!!

The monument of the "Waving Girl" is such a special story.  It is said, that Florence Martus waved in over 50,000 ships over 44 years!

Savannah's City Hall

In the town square, we happened upon this special place.

The FIRST house of worship, Wesley and Whitefield taught here!  George Washington also attended worship here when he was in the city!  LOVE IT!

Georgia's first southern bell. :)

And of course, in a touristy, historical city, you will meet the street performers.  It is just so sad to come across these people.  I know they have a story.  I know they have ups and downs in life, but what led them or kept them on the streets?

This sweet man sang, Ray Charles' 'Georgia On My Mind' for me and the kids.

Another kind man made these roses for the kids, too.

It was another great day filled with fun, history and laughs.  I couldn't ask for more!

Blessings,
Steph
