Early, in the month of July, we decided to buy a newer van to replace our dying, older van. :) It was an exciting time in the family, because we had not bought a new family vehicle in 10 years. We had researched, and prayed, and researched and prayed, finally deciding on what model. We found one in Rapid City, SD. while we were in the area, for a great price. We bought it, and took it "home" to the local Cabela's where the Admiral was parked, ready to drive her onto the car-dolly and 'hit the road!'
Shock was not the half of it, when we realized that our lovely new van was NOT going to fit on our car-dolly! Talk about fighting tears......
SO, all this time, 3 months, and thousands of miles later, we have been searching for a new car-dolly. We actually sold our old one while we were in Cody, WY., however, finding a car-dolly that fits a Toyota Sienna is quite the challenge. We were even told by UHAUL that we would not be able to find one, because it is so wide, and low in the front. :(
Well, after a lot of searching, Todd came upon a car-dolly that 'claimed' would fit ANY vehicle. He called the owner, in North Carolina, and felt very comfortable, however, it was still going to be a huge risk, not being able to find one and look at it IN PERSON. The only place you can buy it is in North Carolina. We are on the opposite side of the country! UG!
Then he decided to check out Ebay. Guess how many of these were on sale?
ONE!!! In ALL of AMERICA. ONE!?
It was back in Idaho! About 7 hours from where we were in southern Washington!! Seriously.
Now, here is where we leave the story, and the Lord takes over. :)
Long story short, a sweet family, (the Hennessy's) in Idaho that we met, also owned a Sienna. They agreed to go check out the car-dolly for us; setting it up on the dolly, being pulled by another vehicle, testing it on sharp turns and such. He called Todd and said that it worked and he would buy it if it were him! :)
Now, HOW were we going to get this car-dolly? We could back track and drive to Idaho, but that would take about a week and a lot more gas, because we would have to take the RV to tow it back to the van where we were staying. (an option.....but an expensive one)
Again, the Lord works out the details so efficiently!
We were staying with the Tapio family, and Peter had a guy picking up freight that week. Guess where he was going!?
Yep. Idaho! I love it!
He made a stop for us and picked up the car-dolly, and brought it back about 30 miles from where we were staying!!! Can you believe it!??
But, even then, I was really struggling. I was so afraid that it would not work with our van. If that was the case, we would have wasted all that money, and STILL have no car-dolly. Even Peter lovingly corrected my attitude by saying, "Oh, ye of little faith."
I am sharing this story to hopefully remind someone out there in cyberworld and to share my humble lesson, that the Lord can do anything. When it seems so bleak or confusing, He is at work! Shame on me for being doubtful. He promises to 'work out all things for our good, for those who love Him' whether it is in our timing or not. Even if the dolly didn't fit, it would be for my good. I HAVE to trust that! :)
Here is the car-dolly! It works. :) God is so good. :)
I am writing this post in the comfort of the 'co-pilot' seat inside of the Admiral. :) Mama is happy!
Thank you Lord for your wonderful works!
Thank you to all the family and friends who have been praying for us during this traveling journey. I appreciate it more than you know!
Blessings,
Steph
