Our FIRST EVER RV trip & Campground!!!

All I can say, is, I am SO thankful that we are FINALLY parked! :)

Here is the story:

We left this morning at 9:30.  We were as prepared as we could possibly be.  We EVEN had reservations!  The drive was relaxing, and such a nice experience.  We even got to meet up with my PaPa on the way and have lunch and icecream with him.  It was just PERFECT......until we got to our destination.  Yep..

Now, on the way, we passed a lot of beautiful scenery and many farms and fields.
And then, we came to exciting views of water, and ocean!  Here are the kids stuck to the windows, as we are getting closer to Corpus Christi. :)

And then, I started feeling the stress.....a bridge.....a REALLY big bridge.
I don't like bridges.....especially ones with lots of water underneath.....

But,  it honestly was not that bad. :)

So, we continued on, and found our RV park destination....but they would not let us in!! :(
Seriously.
Long story short, the RV park that we WERE going to stay in was a military park that used to be open to the public, but is NOT any more, and someone, unfotunately got fired! UG!  Not good....
Now, there were some funnies in this situation: Like Todd having to use the restroom SO bad, that when he finally got the chance to stop and "go" we were waiting on the Navy men to give us clearance.  But, we were not moving, because he was literally in the bathroom for more than 3 minutes!  (going ONLY #1 :)) HA!

We finally leave, and make our way to the nearest Walmart to figure out what we are going to do.  By this time it is late, we are starving, and SO frustrated. :(   (I do feel bad for the guy who lost his job though.)

Then, as Todd is getting permission from Walmart to stay there for the night, another RVing family parks next to us, and shared where they were staying and gave us the info we needed to call the campground. :)

It just so happens that there was room for us!  Praise the Lord!  The kids were SO thankful, and so was I.
I just did not want to spend our first night at a Walmart!

So, now we are parked, hooked up, fed, relaxed, and happy.  Good times.  :)
We may stay here, or find a different place in the area, but oh, how thankful we are to be in Corpus Christi!

Blessings,
Steph

  1. Steph, I know how you feel about bridges, and am SO proud of you! That's awesome how God provided that family to share the camp site info.
