Science & Energy Museum

Traveling on  the eastern side of Tennessee now, we stopped for a few days in Heiskell, TN.  The "Secret City," also known as Oak Ridge, is only about 20 miles away, so we decided to spend an afternoon checking it out.

They have a Science & Energy Museum there that is also part of our National Museum Pass!

Can you say, "FREE?!"

We spent some time playing with their 'Brain Teasers.'  But, I like to think of these little games as, "Brain Freezers!"
It seems to stress me out, and make my brain hurt!  HA!

With a little help, we were able to balance 14 huge nails on the head of ONE nail!  TOO COOL!

This is one big ole' piece of coal!

Here is the 'Hair- Raising Time!"

SO much fun!  We were all laughing at each other.  Hee hee.....

This is one scary invention.  From yards away, you can hear someone whispering with this whisper dish. It made me think of 'Big Brother' or the CIA or the FBI.
Not that I have anything to hide!  HA!

We watched a movie about the town of Oak Ridge, back in WWII.  Thousands of families, literally uprooted with in a few days to live and work here.  It was a town living in secret, making the atomic bombs that would soon protect our country from any other potential harm.

Then, we had some fun, coming up with all kinds of silly ways to play with this mirror. :)

Oh no!

I think he is a little too good at this.......don't you?

Deep thoughts, with Parker.......

Just another day, on the road, learning, laughing and LOVING this life!

Blessings,
Steph

  1. Love the girls hairdos, and Two Parkers? That's even better than one! You all have so much fun, families can really learn what family living is all about.
