U.S. Bureau of Printing & Ft. Worth Science & History Museum

While we were here in Ft. Worth, Tx, we have had the joy of meeting up with some wonderful friends, and family!
We took the day on Monday, and filled it COMPLETELY!  We started the day at the Bureau, which was really a great learning experience.  I don't think I ever went through that much security. (not even like an airport!)  The kids thought that it was really cool though! :)
They really searched my diaper bag, and I could not take my cell phone or camera or any other type of bag.  The officers and staff were very friendly though, so it made up for the uneasy feeling of being "watched" like a hawk.  Since I couldn't take pics, I took one of the outside. :)
This was a great place to take the family for ALL ages!  It was FREE, it was extremely structured and organized.  It had an instructional video that kept the kid's attention, a guided tour through out the entire facility, and a museum with a lot of interactive games and activities for the kids. :)  Did I say it was FREE? :)

Later, after we went home for lunch, we headed to the Science & History Museum, it was just plain awesome!  I know that I really liked the Witte Museum in San Antonio, but this was also SO great! :)
I have a ton of pics, but had to narrow it down for some of my favorites:

There was a table full of all sorts of magnet activities and experiments. :)
 Really fun paper airplane shooter!

 Our name in LIGHTS!!!
(Yes, that is a HUGE Light-Brite board!  LOVE it.  :)

Zach built his first working propeller.  So exciting! :)
Tanner built his first working motor. :)

Parker spent about 30 minutes at the enormous train track.

There was an interactive hospital, grocery store and below, was an outside water-works set up that was really enjoyable.
That is Parker inside of a REAL dinosaur foot print that was found!  How cool is that?!

Really fun computerized puzzle.  Especially, when you are trying yo beat your little sister.  (just can not take the competitive spirit away! :)

 Cowboys for a day!

Sports Heroes for a day!  There was an extremely loud sound bite of cheering as we walked through. Ha!

 It's a Heismen trophy. :)

This was absolutely cool.  The computer takes your picture, and then shows you what you will look like in 40 years!  Too funny!  The museum also had lots of other interactive games and such, that we spent a solid 4 1/2 hours here, and LOVED every minute of it.
Even better, because we have a reciprocal museum membership, it only cost us $10 to go to the museum!  I love deep discounts. :)

Blessings,
Steph
