Brown vs. Board of Education, Topeka, KS

Yesterday, we went to Monroe Elementary School; a national historical site.  Back in 1954, this was a HUGE event that began a change in America to put an end to segregation.
To walk these halls, that was once an only black school, and to know that it was one of 5 in the nation that was part of the historic court battle in Brown vs. Board of Education, was a very special feeling.  It was a feeling of sadness, but of thankfulness.  I am so thankful that we ended segregation.  I am so thankful that any man, what ever color he may be, has an equal and fair opportunity to live, learn and work in this great nation.

We were able to earn another Jr. Ranger badge here as well!  :)

Blessings,
Steph
